Google Docs

What is it?

Google Docs is a free file sharing for word processing documents, slideshows, spreadsheets, and other types of files. Google Docs allows individuals to share documents without having to bother with attachments or requiring others to own a specific piece of software. A group of individuals from different locations using different systems can all work together, either synchronously or asynchronously, on the same document. All that is required to begin is a Google account, which can be obtained free by visiting Google Accounts and following the on-screen prompts. Google provides you with an e-mail service, calendar, and instant messaging. (You are not required to use these if you have a preferred e-mail service.)
